Some examples:

Maria – F&B Intern from Chile

Maria completed her Bachelor of Hospitality in Santiago in July 2024 and immediately started working full-time in the restaurant of a 4-star hotel. She had already gained 8 months of practical experience during and after her studies.

She applied for the HIP Program in June 2025, and after 6 months, we lodged her visa application in December 2025. By that time, she had accumulated over 16 months of relevant experience within the past 24 months, making her fully eligible.

—> Maria meets all visa requirements.

Lukasz – Culinary Applicant from Poland

Lukasz completed his Diploma in Culinary Arts in March 2023 and gained 9 months of full-time experience as a line cook in a hotel kitchen. However, he stopped working in January 2024 and had not returned to the industry since.

When he applied in June 2025, his last relevant experience would be nearly two years old, and he would not meet the requirement of 12 months of full-time study or work within the past 24 months.

—> Lukasz had a strong background, but the gap in recent experience made him ineligible for the visa and less competitive for internship opportunities. If he secures a position in hospitality and gains enough relevant experience, he can reapply and become eligible later on.

*If you hold an Australian Visa with full working rights or are applying for an Australian Visa with full working rights, we have flexible arrangements in regards to eligibility criteria. Please, contact us to confirm your eligibility.

Why It’s So Important to Be Employed Now?

To be eligible for the 407 Training Visa, you must justify at least 12 months of full-time work and/or study experience in the past 24 months. This means it’s essential that you continue working in your field up until your visa application is lodged.

Remaining active in your profession also increases your chances of being placed faster in an internship, as it creates a stronger impression with host organisations looking for motivated and up-to-date candidates.

⚠️ However, we strongly recommend gaining experience in reputable hospitality venues. Experience in fast food chains or low-quality establishments is unlikely to be accepted for the visa and may not be valued by host companies.

How It Works?

1.      Send your CV for an eligibility check

2.      If eligible, submit your documents and complete an online application

3.      Record a short video introduction (to help match you with host companies)

4.      Interview with your future host company

5.      Get your offer letter and lodge your visa

6.      Travel to Australia and start your professional adventure!

📌 Important Notes

• We currently do not accept Pastry applicants

F&B applicants must hold an RSA certificate – we’ll assist you in obtaining one once you’re in Australia.

Visa processing time: It varies and is beyond our control. You can find more information on the Department of Home Affairs website. For Working Holiday Visas, processing typically takes 3–5 months.
