We know that starting an internship abroad can feel exciting and a little overwhelming. Don’t worry - we’re here to guide you at every step. Here’s how your journey with us works:
Step 1: First Contact – Send Us Your CV & Letter of Objectives
Your journey begins with the most important step: sharing your CV and a Letter of Objectives (LoO). The more information you provide, the better we can understand your profile, skills, and goals.
This is your first impression with us, and it’s crucial! Based on your CV and LoO, we can already tell if you’re potentially eligible for our program. You can register here or send your resume to info@internships.com.au
Step 2: Upload Your Documents on AIMIGO
If you receive a positive first feedback from our team, to confirm your eligibility, we’ll ask you to upload supporting documents to our platform AIMIGO. This helps us ensure everything is in order and that we have all the information we need to confirm your eligibility.
Step 3: Document Verification
Our team carefully reviews every document to make sure you’re eligible for both:
• The internship program
• The 407 visa, if you’re applying for it
This step ensures there are no surprises later and that your application is strong from the start.
Step 4: Acceptance Letter
Good news! Once all your documents are approved, we send you an official Letter of Acceptance to join our program. Congratulations - you’re officially on your way!
Step 5: Meet Your IPS – Your Internship Program Supervisor
From this stage, you’re paired with your IPS (Internship Program Supervisor) - your go-to guide and mentor throughout the process.
Your IPS will:
• Answer your questions and provide guidance
• Help you polish your CV and Cover Letter
• Prepare you for interviews with personalised mock interviews
Meanwhile, our team of matching experts will reach out to companies to find the perfect internship that aligns with your goals and learning objectives.
Step 6: Interview with Your Host Company
It’s time for your interview! Thanks to your IPS’s preparation, you’ll feel confident and ready. Nail the interview, and the next step is yours - you get the internship!
Step 7: Sign Your Training Agreement
Once you secure your internship, you’ll sign your Training Agreement with the company.
• If you’re on a visa that allows immediate work, you can start your internship right away.
• If you need a 407 visa, we move to the next step.
Step 8: Visa Application (if required)
Our visa application expert will help optimise your application to give you the best chance of approval. They will check every detail, so you know your application is complete and accurate.
Processing times vary depending on your situation, you can see the last updates on the Department of Home Affairs website.
Step 9: Start Your Internship!
Congratulations, you’re officially starting your internship!
We know it can feel exciting and maybe a little intimidating at first. Don’t worry - we stay by your side:
• Regular check-ins to see how you’re doing
• Quick Learning Forms on your learning, goals, and challenges
• Support to make sure you make the most of your experience
BONUS: Certificate of Completion
