Asian Kitchen Sous Chef
The host organisation is seeking an enthusiastic individual with an artistic flair for a modern twist on plating and presentation to join our flagship venue. Your specialty will be Modern Chinese Cuisine. You will play an integral part in the managing and ongoing success of our Restaurant.
In the absence of the Head Chef, you will oversee the running of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food production and service are achieved, team management, menu planning, and communication with the front of house department.
About the Role
• Extensive experience in a Chinese cuisine
• High confidence in wok cooking is essential
• Ability to effectively delegate tasks, prioritise, maintain five star standards of quality and show an overall high level of leadership skill
• Strong understanding of produce, culinary techniques and kitchen equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Keen eye for detail and keeping up to date with industry trends
• Menu preparation with proven experience creating new ideas
• Superior communication and influencing skills
• Demonstrated capability in leading, coaching and mentoring your team
• Extensive knowledge of monitoring food costs, minimising waste, managing labour costs and driving revenue
