Demi Chef

Main Responsibilities

-Organise and assist in the preparation and production of dishes to the highest possible standard and maintain punctuality to service requirements.

-Direct and supervise Commis Chefs and trainees in maintaining the standards

-Assist in maintaining a minimal food cost by storing food items correctly and preparing only the portions required

-Prepare daily mise-en-place according to business demand, work lists or verbal instructions ensuring preparation is complete prior to service

-Assist with the daily requisition of food and equipment items, collect and check store items and ensure proper storage

Qualifications

-Relevant experience in the same or similar role in a high-end restaurant or 5-star hotel environment

-Relevant and minimum of certificate IV in commercial cookery

-Flexibility to work in a shift work and fast-paced environment
